Referent for the Department of Church Politics and Fundamental Theological Questions

The BDKJ is an association of 17 Catholic youth associations with a total of 660,000 children, adolescents and young adults.

The speaker for church politics and fundamental theological questions is responsible for the technical and strategic advice of the BDKJ Federal Association in the area of ​​church politics and fundamental theological questions as well as the representation of the interests of the BDKJ in committees and organizations.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Accompaniment, advice and support of association committees, projects and actors, in particular the BDKJ Federal Board
  • Monitoring of church, social and parliamentary debates and contact work with church political actors
  • Management and support of internal association committees
  • Responsibility for the conception, planning and implementation of events and campaigns, in particular the BDKJ's appearance at the Catholic Day
  • Educational work on church political and theological topics
  • Creation of specialist articles, work aids, publications and press releases in the department
  • Application for and accounting of third-party funds and review of the use of funds

Requirements and expectations

  • Completed university degree in the field of Catholic theology, religious studies, religious education or comparable qualification
  • Experience in church politics
  • Experience in youth association work and/or youth pastoral care
  • Identification with the values ​​and goals of the BDKJ
  • Personal commitment, initiative and independent work
  • Careful working methods as well as the ability to cooperate and communicate
  • Knowledge and experience in project management
  • Knowledge of Microsoft 365 and social media
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and be mobile
