Specialist for the field of visual arts and media art (m / f / d)
by June 1, 2021, or earlier if necessary, for the Department of Cultural Promotion. The position is unlimited.

The cultural promotion department supports innovative developments and trends within the Stuttgart cultural scene. To this end, she also launches her own initiatives in cooperation with various actors (m / f / d). In addition, their work aims to expand the cultural infrastructure in the city and to ensure the quality of artistic creation in the long term. The basis are cultural-political decisions.
Tasks:
As a subject librarian (m / f / d) you are the contact person (m / f / d) for the art institutions / actors (m / f / d) and initiatives in Stuttgart. They bundle funding policy issues z. B. through the studio support program and look after the spectrum of artists from the art association to the offspaces to freelance artists (m / f / d). You develop measures to implement current cultural policy goals.
- Accompanying, bundling and networking the Stuttgart art and media art scene
- Concept development and project management in the field of fine arts, cultural participation, transmedia art and art in public space
- Budget responsibility, budget monitoring and processing of all administrative processes
- Organization and management of working groups, committee and jury work
- Advice to those involved in the arts, support of institutionally funded facilities and project funding
- Conceptual further development of funding instruments and evaluations
- Preparation of documents for the top management, in particular drafting speeches, greetings and submissions from municipal councils
Requirements:
- a relevant university degree with a master's degree, diploma or master’s degree, preferably in arts or cultural studies, public management or cultural management
- Several years of administrative experience in culturally influenced fields of work, preferably in a public administration
- Experience in conceptual work and the ability to think and act strategically
- Knowledge and ability to assess the economic management of cultural institutions
- Good judgment in artistic matters, knowledge of contemporary art and the Stuttgart scene
- Knowledge of public funding law is an advantage
