350 employees at the Senate Department for Economics, Energy and Business create the framework conditions for Berlin's economy on a daily basis and promote the service and industrial sectors. Businesses should survive and grow in global competition, new companies and jobs should be won for the Berlin office. A modern energy policy as well as the digital transformation count as well as the creation of attractive commercial and industrial sites.

Berlin is growing. With your involvement in the Real Estate, Future Places of the Senate Department for Economics, Energy and Business, you ensure that the interests of the economy in the urban development policy of the state of Berlin have a strong voice. We are advancing development in the future locations of the state of Berlin, ensuring that urban development projects take into account economic and labor market policy goals and take care of the provision of state-owned commercial properties for the economy. We are committed to providing good framework conditions for companies already based in Berlin as well as for new settlements and are developing new approaches to improving the conditions in Berlin. In your work in the department, you always have the interests of the state of Berlin as well as the requirements of the companies in mind and actively contribute to achieving a balanced ratio of population and job growth in the country.

This is what you are working with by

• develop strategies and measures for commercial space development,
• Agree on usage concepts for commercial sites and properties,
• represent economic policy interests in urban development projects,
• participate in and prepare interdisciplinary and inter-administrative working groups (eg Steering Committee New Urban Areas and Development Areas, Steering Committee Housing, Portfolio Committee of the State of Berlin) and
• handle parliamentary proceedings (including the vote of Senate proposals).

Formal requirements (please note that these exclusion criteria are):

For employment you need a master's degree or equivalent qualification in Urban and Regional Planning or Economic Geography or Applied Geography / Spatial Planning.

If you meet these, you also have

• knowledge of urban and regional planning
• Knowledge of site development / land policy

In addition, the following practical experiences are indispensable:
