In addition to the application reference, the international orientation of the degree program is a special feature. Business psychologists mainly work in human resources, in marketing and advertising agencies, in market research and in management consultancy.

There are many aspects in the economy where psychological issues play a significant role. Accordingly, there are many interesting areas of application after graduation, ranging from human resources to marketing and advertising agencies to business consultancy. Business psychologists work in human resources departments, both in-house and as external service providers. You are responsible for personnel development and personnel selection. Business psychologists coach, train and develop employees into executives and participate in organizational development. Also in marketing, many topics are psychologically oriented: e.g. the areas of customer satisfaction and customer loyalty or consumer behavior. Through the methodological competence in the evaluation and interpretation of data and the ability to create and evaluate questionnaires, business psychologists are well prepared for use in market research. You work in market research institutes, in web agencies, in marketing departments of companies or in external brand consulting, ie in consulting companies. There, for example, they develop concrete recommendations, concepts and methods for successful marketing. Work and organization are traditional psychological fields of action. Occupational psychologists deal with issues of workplace health promotion, satisfaction and motivation of employees. Aspects of leadership and organization as well as the psychological accompaniment of change processes go along with it. Another field of application is business consulting or consulting. Here, economic psychologists benefit from their knowledge of human experience and behavior as well as their methodological knowledge.

The syllabus includes English Level 4 (Language for Specific Purposes) / CEF B2 / C1. It is specialized English, which consists of the parts of specialized language psychology and jargon management. The students acquire English language skills at the level of study ability and are qualified to study in English speaking countries. In the 4th or 5th semester, a voluntary study abroad semester is possible. The Faculty of Business and Social Sciences maintains partnerships with universities worldwide. The students are supported by the International Office of the Faculty and the contact persons of the study program to conclude a so-called Learning Agreement before the start of the study abroad semester. The prior equivalence check ensures that the courses taken at the partner university are recognized.

The teaching style of the events is predominantly seminaristic. Instead of pure frontal lessons, the events are characterized by group and project work as well as discussions. In addition to imparting specialist content, communication and team skills are thus also developed. Previously learned knowledge is practically implemented. For example, in the course "Diagnostics and Personnel Selection", students use their knowledge about the development of tests and create a personnel selection test. The events during the block week include excursions and projects with practical relevance. The practical project on business psychology in the 4th semester enables students to intensively reflect on work fields in the context of companies or other practical institutions. After supervision and under supervision, the students are alone and organized in subgroups involved in the planning and preparation of a project or participate in the practical implementation of surveys or measures. The scientific practical project at the end of the study requires the students to analyze practical questions and develop suggested solutions in the sense of independent learning during an internship in companies.

The business modules convey entrepreneurial know-how, so that the graduates are capable of being connected in the business world. The psychological content is the largest contributor to the curriculum. Approximately 60 percent of the courses are based on the psychological basic and advanced modules. The degree course places special emphasis on providing sound education in the methods of empirical social research. In the methodological modules, students learn to apply psychological examinations, e.g. Create questionnaires, evaluate surveys and conduct interviews. Later in the course, students choose between the two specializations "Personnel & Organization" and "Market Psychology & Marketing". A voluntary study abroad semester can be integrated into the course of studies.
