As an expert in humanoid robotics, you are an all-rounder. In addition to the growing range of jobs in humanoid robotics, general tasks in robotics and automation technology are also possible. You will even be asked for companies that are looking for electrical engineers, mechatronics engineers, control engineers or programmers.

As part of the course, you can already contact future employers and carry out your practical phase there. If it fits, you can directly join the bachelor thesis in the company, which often leads to a solid employment relationship.

Of course, you can also pursue your own ideas and start a startup. Beuth University supports you with all questions relating to start-ups: from financing to marketing. In Berlin you will find an optimal location for innovative business ideas!

Since humanoid robotics is an active research area, it is advisable to attend an in-depth master's program and then work at an international research institute where the future is already being made today.

From the first week of study, exciting experiments are carried out that are perfectly tailored to the subject matter of the lectures - because if you touch and guide a robotic arm yourself, you will understand connections much better.

You will build simple robots yourself after four weeks and more complex ones in a team from the second semester. Of course, you will also work with trendy humanoid robots and get first-hand knowledge of the latest trends in robotics and artificial intelligence.

Visits to companies and research laboratories complete the course. You can also make contacts for a stay abroad, your future job or further studies.

The first fields of application in which humanoid robots work are to be found in retail, gastronomy and medicine - other industries follow.

In the lectures you will learn, among other things, how to ...

  • Robots mechanically designed and manufactured,
  • developed electronic circuits,
  • evaluates sensors and controls motors and
  • Behavior and ability to learn programmed.

The course is not only technical, but also conveys ethical, legal and social aspects of humanoid robotics. Art projects can also be carried out in a team with students from other universities.

Bachelor Thesis

Humanoid robotics offers many subject areas that are suitable for a thesis.

Here is a small excerpt:

  • Visual processing: movement perception, recognition of objects, people, gestures and facial expressions, depth estimation, self-localization
  • Auditory processing: synthesis of speech and singing, perception of speech and music, recognition of emotional coloring, sense of rhythm
  • Body control: Execution of movements (standing, walking, grasping, dancing), cooperative actions (e.g. wearing two things), body balance with rapid arm movements
  • Design / construction: creation of a hand, an arm, a head, expansion of existing hardware with additional sensors, development of a new type of robot.
  • Adaptive behavior and learning: developing educational games, understanding logical relationships, predicting and evaluating events.

More demanding topics can also be worked on in a small team, so that there are (almost) no limits to your own wishes.
