Описание программы обучения "Interdisciplinary Healthcare and Management"

The demographics of our populations are changing, as is the spectrum of diseases with which we are faced; medical and technical advances are matched by people’s increasing desire to take charge of their health and avail themselves of the latest treatments and therapies – in a situation of limited healthcare resources. All these factors and more challenge the healthcare world to change with our times.

In out- and inpatient care alike, interdisciplinary approaches are gaining in currency; we need to identify and shape points of intersection between professions in the sector if we are to adequately meet the growing need for information, advisory services and health promotion interventions tailored to specific target groups.

The course will give you an academic foundation for exploring and implementing profession-specific and interdisciplinary methodologies and approaches and teach you to use targeted methods for planning healthcare services and managing resources. Further, you will interact with others across healthcare disciplines and leave us with the ability to engage actively in developing healthcare systems, taking a range of professional viewpoints into account.

Учебный план программы обучения "Interdisciplinary Healthcare and Management"

This six-semester course builds on its students’ prior professional experience, keeping its classes relatively small to enable them to contribute their specific expertise and recognise its place in an interdisciplinary network of knowledge.

The first two semesters focus on healthcare professions as academic disciplines, public health, interdisciplinary communication and team-centred working, health economics, business administration, organisational principles, social security legislation, reflective practice and understanding specific cases, advice provision, communication and decision-making skills, ethics, and good academic and scientific practice.

Semesters 3 and 4 explore research methods, HR management, health systems and health policy, chronic diseases, and multimorbidity, and students spend a semester on a practical placement.

In their fifth and sixth semesters, students take in-depth courses on health promotion and preventive interventions, interdisciplinary models of healthcare, assessment and intervention, evidence-based practice, and communicating risk, and carry out a specialist project. The course concludes with a Bachelor thesis.

The course’s ultimate aim is to provide students with specific knowledge and skills in:

health promotion and disease prevention
health systems and health policy decision-making
business administration
