Various modules of the master’s course are divided into seminar lessons and associated internships or exercises, in which the solution of problems dealt with in the classroom is practiced and worked out experimentally or on the computer.

In the course project work and the independently carried out master's thesis - based on practice-relevant, partly interdisciplinary questions and under scientific supervision - innovative problem solutions are sought.

Topics for master's theses can come from any of the issues addressed in the course, e.g. E.g .:

  • Investigation of chemically reacting systems
  • Computer-aided simulation of process engineering processes

In the first semester, in-depth courses on analytical measurement technology in organic, inorganic and physical chemistry as well as on modern drug forms are offered.

Of the four compulsory elective modules (see curriculum), two must be chosen:

  • Selected Chapters of Pharmaceutical / Chemical Technology
  • Combinatorial Organic Chemistry
  • Inorganic Materials Science
  • Modern spectroscopic methods

In the second semester, existing knowledge in the biochemical field is expanded with the subjects of microbiology, biochemistry and hygiene.

Technical-chemical questions and methods of solving them are dealt with in the chemical process engineering module.

In the Scientific Work Techniques module, applied statistics and the basics of scientific work are learned, which are required for the master's thesis to be completed in the third semester. In this semester, a project work will be prepared as part of the module of the same name and two freely selectable general study subjects must be taken.

    Creating the basis and researching innovatively: Mathematics and natural sciences are the basis of all courses at Beuth University, which are set by the faculty II teachers.

    This mathematical and scientific training is always related to the requirements of business and technology and is based on modern methods of information processing. The ability to familiarize oneself with new tasks, to design solutions and implement them in an interdisciplinary manner is also a goal.

    In the mathematics, physics and chemistry courses of Faculty II, the respective discipline is taught in special application areas with a high degree of practical relevance.
