Applied research and development are part of the practical training at the HAWK. Current key topics with a view to future viability and their application are dealt with in the various research groups of the HAWK.

The laboratories and workshops play an important role in practice-related studies. The students are already involved in the laboratories and workshops during the internships that accompany their studies and thus have the opportunity to test and question the theoretically acquired knowledge in experiments and projects.
