Tones, sound worlds and music are indispensable parts of every media production today. Whether film, game or website: music, sound design or voice recordings are used everywhere. The old audio media are developing rapidly, especially on the Internet. With the seven-semester bachelor's degree program in Sound and Music Production, students accompany this change. In doing so, they acquire the necessary scientific, technical, acoustic, artistic and musical skills in an interdisciplinary and practical manner.

Graduates of the course predominantly work in media production. They primarily work in creative, technical or development positions. For example in music production, television or film sound, in game design, in advertising agencies, in live operations, on radio or even for media productions for museums and theaters.
Учебный план программы обучения "Sound, Music and Productio"
In the first two semesters, the course content conveys the technical and acoustic basics of sound design and music production. In addition, the students work in small teams on their first projects. This project orientation will be expanded in the following semesters. The students work in teams on complex topics from all areas of algorithmic/digital sound processing as well as music and sound design production. These projects meet professional quality and workflow standards. In addition, theoretical events and elective courses enable you to deepen your studies according to your own interests.

Tones, sound worlds and music are indispensable parts of every media production today. Whether film, game or website, we encounter music, sound design or voice recordings everywhere. At the same time, the old audio media are developing rapidly: Internet radio, multi-channel and spatial audio, interactive digital effects, new music formats and marketing channels on the Internet make the audio world more diverse and fascinating than ever before. While you get to know modern recording and production processes and independently realize a variety of music and sound design projects, you also gain insight into the long-term acoustic, mathematical and physical fundamentals of analog and digital audio processing. Programming basics allow you to take a look behind the scenes of current digital instruments and effects. This combination leads to an above-average, well-founded education that allows professional orientation in various directions.
Interdisciplinary and practical
Those who study the world of hearing in the new, seven-semester BA Sound and Music Production course explore the acoustic dimension of films, games and interactive projects. In our many music and band recordings, radio play productions and sound design projects, artistic design and technical know-how can grow together to create a convincing personality. The needs of the audio producer are ideally covered by events in acoustics, computer science, recording technology, media law, management and culture. The study plan particularly promotes team-oriented work in small work groups and enables students to receive exciting interdisciplinary training with a high practical component.

Accompanying the projects, the elective area makes it possible to deepen individual disciplines or try out cutting-edge topics and technologies.

Darmstadt University of Applied SciencesThe Faculty of Media brings together all of its courses on the media campus of the Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences, which deal with media, information, journalism, marketing and public relations in online communication in an interdisciplinary manner. By studying on the media campus, students can qualify for a wide variety of professions within the media sector. Training courses include information managers for libraries and companies, online journalists, PR specialists, specialists in online marketing, social media managers, media trainers, game developers, specialists in animation, interaction and interface designers, filmmakers and sound experts. Bachelor and master level courses are offered.
