2,200 students, 60 professors and increasingly more research topics in the fields of computer science and media, technology and business: Brandenburg University of Applied Sciences (THB) is a young, modern university located on the outskirts of Berlin, which provides an excellent learning environment. We are a strong partner in teaching and research, securing skilled workers and guaranteeing technology transfer in the region. Since 2016, the THB has been a member of the University Alliance for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises, a consortium currently made up of ten universities of applied sciences. These institutions are united through the principle of training young people in a labour-market-related and application-oriented manner and to strengthen knowledge transfer within the regional economy. With the topic "Interdisciplinary Security”, THB has been represented on the research map of the German Rectors' Conference since 2015.

At THB, collaborative research is conducted on various topics across departmental boundaries. Central to this are the interdisciplinary research focus areas of "Interdisciplinary Security Research," "Energy and Resource Efficiency," and "Digital Transformation."
Interdisciplinary Security ResearchThis research focus area brings together current research topics such as data protection, preventive/reactive IT security, the reliability of systems and processes, as well as security aspects of medicine, aviation, microelectronics, and technical systems based on technical, organizational, and economic methods.
The "Energy and Resource Efficiency" research focus area is broadly based and pursues an interdisciplinary and holistic approach. The focus is on the analysis, development, design, and optimization of energy- and resource-efficient processes and products.
The research focus "Digital Transformation" investigates the processes and modes of action, implementation, operation, use, and evaluation of digital technologies, management approaches, and business models within and between companies, administrations, and organizations.
