Media are constantly changing due to technical progress. The course prepares students to develop, produce, design and market content for a wide variety of media (print, radio, internet, mobile applications). Essentially, communication science, journalistic, business, legal and design-specific content is conveyed. The students get to know all media production processes strategically and operationally and develop special skills in media project management.

Media usage increased from 6 hours in 1987 to over 10 hours in 2017. The media inform, entertain, advertise, initiate sales, design customer relationships, optimize processes and educate. Diverse digital innovations (news and music services, image and video platforms, search engines, social media, e-commerce, apps, games and e-sports) continue to increase media demand and digital media supply. The media also play a central role in the positioning of parties, companies, brands, TV channels and formats. The media influence citizens in numerous important decisions. If you want to be successful politically, economically, personally or as a teacher, you have to understand, shape and use the media. Media literacy and media management are therefore becoming increasingly important for politics, business, the entertainment industry, education and for all of us. This leads to good long-term career prospects for media managers.
