The larger of the two faculties, theThe Faculty of Engineering is home to about 40 professors and 50 academic and administrative staff, and offers outstanding practice-oriented programmes. Degrees and exchange opportunities are available in a variety of sub-disciplines within engineering, computer science, industrial management, and mechatronics, all with close links to local industry.
The programmes are very highly ranked in the German CHE rankings. For example, the bachelor’s programme in electrical engineering and IT was named as the number one programme in that field at a German university of applied sciences in the CHE rankings for the years 2004, 2007, 2010, 2012, and 2013. The bachelor’s programme in mechatronics was also ranked number one in 2012.
An extensive module offering in English is integrated into the faculty’s degree programmes, providing for easy integration of international students into academic and social life at the faculty.
