The Faculty of Arts and Humanities, as one of the founding faculties of Humboldt University of Berlin, combines a strong sense of tradition with forward-looking, socially relevant research. At four institutes, 45 professors and more than 250 staff members teach and conduct research. With its academic profile and outstanding international researchers, the faculty contributes important impulses to current societal debates and cross-university research initiatives.
Seventeen different interdisciplinary and international degree programs, as well as structured doctoral programs, provide around 4,400 students with opportunities to shape their studies in diverse ways, deepen their knowledge individually, or pursue an international orientation.
Responsibility and integrity in research and teaching are of particular importance to the faculty. It is committed to equality, diversity, and respectful cooperation (see Code of Conduct).
