Since its foundation, the Faculty has been among the top institutions for management studies in Europe. We have been pursuing our goal of contributing to the development of our discipline through excellence in research and teaching ever since. Indeed, our Faculty ranks near the top of many university rankings for good reasons. We are not only part of a modern and internationally renowned university, but also part of a long tradition. As diverse as LMU is with its 18 faculties, our pride in being part of a history dating back almost 550 years unites us all. Since its foundation in 1492, LMU has been an institution that has made a difference in both research and teaching despite several periods of political and economic instability.
