MSB Medical School Berlin (MSB) is a private, state-recognised higher education institution in Berlin focused on health and medicine. A key feature is its structural combination of applied and university-level education within one institution, designed to connect clinical practice, health sciences and research-oriented study pathways.
MSB is organised into three faculties: the Faculty of Health Sciences (University of Applied Sciences profile) and the Faculty of Medicine plus the Faculty of Natural Sciences (both with university-equivalent status). This structure supports programmes ranging from applied health and education fields to scientifically oriented medicine and psychology.
The Human Medicine (Staatsexamen) programme is offered in cooperation with Helios Klinikum Berlin-Buch. The course follows the requirements of German medical training and aims at the state examination and subsequent licensure route. The study structure is divided into phases: an initial section with teaching at MSB’s Berlin campus and a clinical phase at the MSB university campus at Helios Klinikum Berlin-Buch, followed by the Practical Year (PJ). Patient-centred skills training is strengthened through dedicated teaching elements integrated into the curriculum.
MSB’s main campus is located in Berlin-Wilmersdorf. The building combines historic and modern parts and is designed for seminar-based learning, skills training and independent study. Additional MSB sites are located nearby, while the medical clinical phase is linked to Berlin-Buch.
Alongside medicine, MSB offers Bachelor’s and Master’s programmes in health-related fields and psychology (for example, psychology and health economy are listed among the study options). Graduates typically move into clinical and outpatient care (medicine), psychological and health-related professions (depending on qualification pathway), healthcare organisations, prevention and rehabilitation contexts, or education and management roles in the health sector.
