In 1971 the Oskar von Miller Polytechnic became the Munich University of Applied Sciences. The Faculty of Electrical Engineering was created in 1974 from three electrical engineering departments at this college. Due to the increasing number of students, the faculty had to be divided into two locations. The students mainly complete their basic studies in Infanteriestr. 14, the main course at Dachauer Str. 98b. With the construction of a new FHM building in Loth- / Heßstr. the faculty was reunited in March 2004.
A decisive reform took place in our faculty in 1999. The international degree "Bachelor" was introduced, which from now on you can also study with us like the "Dipl.-Ing. (FH)". Another innovation was the creation of the master’s degrees "Master of Science in Electrical Engineering" and "Master of Systems Engineering". The systems engineering course, which had existed since 1995, was thus internationally comparable. The name of the faculty was also changed to "Electrical Engineering and Information Technology". In addition to these external changes, the course structure and content were revised due to the orientation towards developments in industry and business.
