In its "Social Work" degree programs, the Faculty of Social Sciences imparts knowledge, skills and abilities for the competent, responsible exercise of the profession in all fields of work. The courses are based on the requirements of the job in an environment and in social conditions that are constantly changing.
The aim of the course is to impart the ability to work independently on the basis of scientific knowledge and methods in the various fields of social work. The wide range of events offers a wide range of opportunities to bring in individual interests, inclinations and skills and possible career goals.
The division of the course into study areas promotes interdisciplinarity and communication. In the practical parts of the course and in projects, in addition to imparting knowledge, great importance is attached to the acquisition and application of what has been learned in practice. Reflecting on action is an integral part of the course.
Intensive communication with social organizations, institutes and facilities guarantees the practical relevance of the course. Lecturers contribute significantly to the practical relevance of the course. Through cooperation with universities in Europe and a wide range of internship offers from abroad, international and intercultural social work is given due space.
There are currently around 1,500 places available in the Faculty of Social Sciences. Approx. 370 new students are accepted annually. 34 professors and four teachers for special tasks teach at the faculty. There are also lecturers from the various fields of social work.
