Around 1,000 students are currently studying electrical engineering in the Soest department. An intensive supervision and training program guarantees close contact between teachers and students.
Since summer 2002, the electrical engineering department has been located on the new university campus on the Lübecker Ring along with the two other Soester departments. State-of-the-art facilities and optimal IT equipment are available here.
The courses in Soest's electrical power engineering department have been developed in response to the needs and trends on the national job market as well as engineering training. Soester graduates thus have excellent professional prospects not only in regionally based industries but even more so in national and international companies.
The Electrical Power Engineering department at the Soest location currently offers 10 courses:
International cooperation enables internships abroad and the exchange of students and professors.
Four of our courses, Business Administration with Informatics as well as the Masters courses in Systems Engineering and Engineering Management and International Management & Information Systems, International Management & Information Systems - Online, are conducted entirely in English.
All professors in the department have many years of industrial experience, know the companies in the region and use their contacts for students and graduates.
In addition to a wide variety of research and cooperation projects, the "Soester Model" was created, in which the student receives a scholarship to study from a cooperating company and gets to know the practical side during the lecture-free periods in the company.
