Faculty of Computer Science and Business Information Systems

University of Applied Sciences Würzburg-Schweinfurt

Würzburg, Bavaria

All degree programmes offered in our Faculty are characterized by

  • a mixture of a broad foundation studies and programme-specific specialisations
  • a high share of practical course contents
  • a mandatory internship semester outside FHWS
  • a wide range of opportunities to gain international experience, such as the International Week
  • an increasing share of online and digital teaching, for example through online courses

The days of the thick-glassed, pale developer in the basement with empty pizza boxes are long gone. Our graduates all work in exciting, sometimes very international, environments. As a faculty, we have a very good reputation among applicants and companies. We are able to combine many years of experience (the computer science course was started in 1975) with a high level of innovation and adaptability. Since 2000 with the business informatics course and since 2011 with the e-commerce course - still unique at state universities nationwide: We don't talk about trends, we create them. A team of professors, lecturers and staff that has significantly rejuvenated and grown in recent years, combined with what is probably one of the most beautiful new campus buildings of the last 10 years in Bavaria, together with a high level of commitment, create a productive learning environment. And if you leave us after 3.5 years – no problem: a functioning ALUMNI network helps to maintain contact with people and topics. One thing is clear: lifelong learning is an absolute necessity in our professional fields.
