The Faculty of Computer Science and Mathematics (FIM) offers a wide range of nationally and internationally recognized scientific competence, from mathematics and algorithmics to intelligent technical systems and pervasive computing, image processing and multimedia technologies to programming methods and software systems, information and communication systems and IT security. The faculty plays a key role in the "Technology Plus" strategy for expanding the university.
The continuing quality of the training is u. a. proven by the CHE rankings of computer science faculties in May 2009 and April 2012. 17 W3/C4 professors, 5 W2/C3 professors and one junior professor, around 100 research assistants and more than 60 student assistants form the backbone of the faculty in research and teaching.
