Faculty 9: Philosophical – Historical Faculty

Teaching

The Philosophical-Historical Faculty was among the first faculties of the University of Stuttgart, which successfully implemented the modularization of the Bachelor's and Master's degree programs. Currently, the teacher training courses are being modularized. In addition to the existing research-oriented Master's programs, the faculty offers a recently established interdisciplinary master's degree in the course of study "Knowledge cultures".

Research

In research, the following areas in particular form the profile of the third-rate faculty:

• (1) Language and Cognition: Cognitive Foundations of Language and Language Technology
• (2) Domination and knowledge: the basics and presentation of political and social rule, forms of communication and mobility, as well as historical change and the dissemination of knowledge forms and institutions.
