Measurement engineer

Messingenieur/in

Measurement engineers capture physical measurement data, process and analyze it, and document the results clearly.

Responsibilities

Measurement engineers help advance electrical/electronic controls and sensors—such as smart meters that enable remote readings. They design physical measurements and analyses, use the results to assess and improve test rigs and measurement methods, and define scope, conditions and content in test or analysis plans. They then ready the lab or test station, configure instruments, install software for data acquisition and evaluation, and run trial tests. Comprehensive documentation of procedures and results is ensured. Based on the findings, they propose optimizations and contribute to developing new or improved measurement devices and evaluation techniques.
