Engineers for renewable energies find employment e.g.
The salary level for Renewable Energy Engineer in Germany is: from 4604 up to 5819 EUR per month
Renewable energy engineers develop, plan, operate and monitor systems for the use of renewable energy sources, e.g. wind power plants, photovoltaic systems, solar thermal and geothermal systems or systems that generate heat or usable gas from biomass.
Whether a wind farm is to be built, the location of a new biogas plant has to be determined or the efficiency of solar collectors has to be checked - engineers will find renewable and economically viable solutions to make renewable energy sources usable. On the basis of research data, they calculate possible energy yields and plan or optimize the technical equipment e.g. a wind turbine by adapting its construction to the usual wind conditions at the selected location. The choice of materials is also important: For systems in the sea e.g. materials must be able to withstand the high risk of corrosion from the saline sea water.
As project managers, engineers for renewable energies are responsible for the entire process: they find the right location for the energy systems, draw up the concept and carry out the approval process, plan and monitor the plant construction and ensure the connection to the public power grid. You can also e.g. Create concepts for bioenergy villages including the waste heat from biogas plants, large wood energy plants and local heating networks. As sales engineers, they monitor market changes, negotiate contracts, advise customers on technical issues and present possible system developments.
Engineers Renewable energies are open to many fields of work. In addition to planning, designing and building energy systems that use renewable energies, they can also work for energy supply companies that operate these systems, e.g. in the area of service. Here they are responsible for maintenance and repair work in order to ensure a constant energy supply. At the authorities and technical monitoring associations, they check whether the legal requirements are met. If you are involved in association and public relations work, e.g. Information materials regarding efficient energy saving techniques or environmentally friendly production processes and observe and analyze legal, technical and political developments in the environmental and energy sectors.
