What you study

The program is divided into compulsory, elective, and optional modules. In the compulsory modules, which comprise two-thirds of the program, you will learn the necessary technical and methodological foundations of business administration. In addition to purely introductory business courses, you will attend lectures on fundamental law and economics and be introduced to computer science. Modules in mathematics and statistics will help you deepen your understanding of numbers, which is essential for business administration.

Career

After completing your studies, you will have a wide range of employment opportunities within companies. Alternatively, non-profit institutions or public organizations, such as a city administration, are potential employers. The fundamental skills acquired during your studies will enable you to work in various areas. For example, you could work in controlling, where you compile data such as sales figures, prices, and costs to determine which products generate profits and how the product range may need to be adjusted. In the finance department, you will help decide how the construction of a new factory hall can be economically and ecologically sustainable and cost-effectively financed. In the corporate marketing department, you will lead a group of employees who conduct customer surveys and jointly develop ideas for improving customer satisfaction.

As an alternative to directly entering the workforce, you can deepen the knowledge acquired during your studies in a master's program in business administration. At the University of Rostock, the master's program in service management offers an ideal opportunity to gain deeper insights into selected topics.

How to apply

You can submit the application yourself or with our help — the university decides on admission in both cases.

Apply yourself

Applications go through the university's portal or uni-assist. Typical mistakes:

  • ×incorrectly made certified copies and translations
  • ×a wrong set of documents
  • ×the application submitted the wrong way
  • ×errors or gaps in the application form
  • ×the application submitted at the wrong time — too early or too late

An incomplete or incorrectly prepared application is excluded from the selection — it can no longer be corrected after the deadline.

University application portal

StudyInFocus does not represent the university and does not influence the admission decision. We do not sell study places and do not guarantee admission — this is a service for preparing and submitting documents on the applicant's side.

If your level is not enough yet

The two most common stoppers are a language level below the requirement and a certificate without direct admission. Both can be solved, but they take months — plan them now, not after a rejection.
