As with the related course in economics, business administration at the Free University of Berlin implements high academic standards in theory and methodology, without neglecting the practical relevance. Mathematics and statistics are considered auxiliary sciences. During the course, students learn the basics of economics, law, mathematics and statistics.

Will I get in

The programme has an admission restriction: the average grade of your certificate, converted to the German scale, decides. The cut-off changes every year — last year's value shows the order of magnitude, not a promise.

Career

Bachelor graduates have scientific knowledge and practical skills that qualify them for a job or a postgraduate course.

The bachelor's degree in business administration at the Free University of Berlin imparts knowledge and skills for a job in the following professional fields: planning, analyzing and advising jobs in companies of various sizes and industries, e.g. in smaller or larger companies producing goods, in trade, banking and lending or in consulting companies. Business economists can also work as freelancers or in public administrations. Activities in research and teaching institutions, in associations and chambers are just as important as employment opportunities in trade unions and the media. The complexity of later career opportunities can already be limited by specialization or priorities within the course.

A master's degree and, if applicable, a doctorate is a prerequisite for managerial positions or employment in research and teaching.

How to apply

You can submit the application yourself or with our help — the university decides on admission in both cases.

Apply yourself

Applications go through the university's portal or uni-assist. Typical mistakes:

  • ×incorrectly made certified copies and translations
  • ×a wrong set of documents
  • ×the application submitted the wrong way
  • ×errors or gaps in the application form
  • ×the application submitted at the wrong time — too early or too late

An incomplete or incorrectly prepared application is excluded from the selection — it can no longer be corrected after the deadline.

StudyInFocus does not represent the university and does not influence the admission decision. We do not sell study places and do not guarantee admission — this is a service for preparing and submitting documents on the applicant's side.

If your level is not enough yet

The two most common stoppers are a language level below the requirement and a certificate without direct admission. Both can be solved, but they take months — plan them now, not after a rejection.
