Business Informatics, B.Sc.
In business informatics, a wide variety of application systems are developed and maintained today for various industries. For example, application-oriented information systems in the pharmaceutical industry control the supply of raw materials to chemical reactors. In municipal building authorities, application systems forward building applications via electronic mail to the screens of the relevant consultants, obtain their opinions, and remind employees of overdue decisions. In the aerospace industry, multimedia systems, among other things, support the continuing education of employees, who can all complete the same course on innovative technologies despite their different locations around the world.

How the selection works and how strong the competition is — we go through it against your certificate when we select programmes for you.
Programme selection →What you study
Business informatics deals with the conception, development and application of business information systems as well as with the analysis, design and use of information in business processes. As an interdisciplinary subject between computer science and business administration, the technological and methodological foundations come from computer science, while the fields of application lie primarily in the business sector.
The full curriculum and the programme's parameters are part of programme selection: we compare them with your profile.

The program also enables direct entry into the profession and qualifies students for key positions in all corporate divisions and industries with a strong IT focus. Positions within the IT department are possible. This includes activities in systems development or systems analysis, user consulting, IT controlling, and IT organization. Positions outside the IT department at various interfaces are also possible. How to apply
You can submit the application yourself or with our help — the university decides on admission in both cases.
Applications go through the university's portal or uni-assist. Typical mistakes:
- ×incorrectly made certified copies and translations
- ×a wrong set of documents
- ×the application submitted the wrong way
- ×errors or gaps in the application form
- ×the application submitted at the wrong time — too early or too late
An incomplete or incorrectly prepared application is excluded from the selection — it can no longer be corrected after the deadline.
StudyInFocus does not represent the university and does not influence the admission decision. We do not sell study places and do not guarantee admission — this is a service for preparing and submitting documents on the applicant's side.
If your level is not enough yet
The two most common stoppers are a language level below the requirement and a certificate without direct admission. Both can be solved, but they take months — plan them now, not after a rejection.
