Communication Design, B.A.
Communication brings people together, communication mediates, informs and inspires. It is always about the goals and wishes of those involved. But it is also often about problems and challenges or their solutions. The means of communication follow the goals mentioned above and can be very diverse. For example, brochures, advertisements, films, websites, magazines, concepts for space and much more are created.
Each communicative result is based on a concept and complements the manual and technical skills that are taught in the course of the course. This creates a wide range of offers that are always based on current communication practice and thus enable you to work successfully in different professional fields after graduation, depending on your inclination and interest.

Will I get in
The programme has an admission restriction: the average grade of your certificate, converted to the German scale, decides. The cut-off changes every year — last year's value shows the order of magnitude, not a promise.
How the selection works and how strong the competition is — we go through it against your certificate when we select programmes for you.
Programme selection →What you study
In the first half of the course (1st to 3rd semester), the focus is on imparting creative design basics as well as imparting technical and technical skills in drafting and realizing drafts. In addition, there is the imparting of theoretical basics in design-relevant areas of science and technology. In the second half of the course (4th to 7th semester), the training concentrates on specializing in the individual design areas. The students can specialize in certain areas of responsibility or in certain design tools and dissemination media through a focus on project studies. From the 5th to the 7th semester, the events are designed to span semesters in order to promote the exchange of experiences between the students. A characteristic feature of the course is the practical module, which usually falls into the fifth semester. In the seventh semester, the students devote themselves to their bachelor thesis.

How to apply

Applications go through the university's portal or uni-assist. Typical mistakes:
- ×incorrectly made certified copies and translations
- ×a wrong set of documents

- ×errors or gaps in the application form
- ×the application submitted at the wrong time — too early or too late
An incomplete or incorrectly prepared application is excluded from the selection — it can no longer be corrected after the deadline.

If your level is not enough yet
The two most common stoppers are a language level below the requirement and a certificate without direct admission. Both can be solved, but they take months — plan them now, not after a rejection.
