Industrial Engineering, M.Sc.

Wirtschaftsingenieurwesen

The master's degree in industrial engineering deepens the knowledge gained from the bachelor's degree in the fields of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering and economics, and at the same time prepares for a doctorate through its scientific focus. Thanks to their multifaceted training, industrial engineers can be used in many ways, especially at the interface between construction and the commercial area. Depending on the specialization, there are opportunities to deepen personal areas of interest and thus to prepare specifically for activities in production planning, energy management or in the commercial area, including in an international environment.

About the programme

Equivalent to the bachelor's degree, the three specializations "Industrial Management", "Production Management" and "Management of Electrical Systems" are offered in the Master's area. The choice of specialization in the Master is to be made at the beginning of the course, but does not necessarily depend on the chosen specialization in the Bachelor program.

What you study

As in the Bachelor's degree, you can specialize in the three profiles "Production Management", "Management of Electrical Systems" and "Industrial Management". You have to choose your profile in the Master's program before starting your studies, but this does not necessarily depend on the chosen specialization in the Bachelor's program. The profile offer is also extremely attractive for Bachelor graduates from other universities, since the specialization promises a high success rate for applications in the corresponding branches of industry.

Career

In almost all areas of the economy, an increase in high-tech and division of labor business processes can be observed. At the same time, internationalization, economic competition and the use of new information technologies require a constantly increasing level of professional competence from all those employees who have to organize and improve such processes. Industrial engineers help in corporate management to optimize highly complex technical processes. They use modern information technologies efficiently and use the skills of the employees without losing sight of the social factors and the ecological balance. The interdisciplinary training gives you a unique combination of knowledge and skills. Due to the optimal combination of your skills and knowledge, you have very good job opportunities.

How to apply

You can submit the application yourself or with our help — the university decides on admission in both cases.

Apply yourself

Applications go through the university's portal or uni-assist. Typical mistakes:

  • ×incorrectly made certified copies and translations
  • ×a wrong set of documents
  • ×the application submitted the wrong way
  • ×errors or gaps in the application form
  • ×the application submitted at the wrong time — too early or too late

An incomplete or incorrectly prepared application is excluded from the selection — it can no longer be corrected after the deadline.

StudyInFocus does not represent the university and does not influence the admission decision. We do not sell study places and do not guarantee admission — this is a service for preparing and submitting documents on the applicant's side.

If your level is not enough yet

The two most common stoppers are a language level below the requirement and a certificate without direct admission. Both can be solved, but they take months — plan them now, not after a rejection.
