Management, B.A.
How do you calculate the admission prices for a festival, a reading or a visit to the theater? In which channels do you advertise such events and what can incentives look like to attract as many people as possible to museums or exhibitions?
The management of cultural companies and projects brings with it its own peculiarities and challenges. With the mix of culture, society and business in the two-subject Bachelor of the Faculty of Cultural Studies, you will be prepared to analyze problems from different perspectives and to use methodological and specialist knowledge from two subjects in the development and implementation of sustainable solutions.

Will I get in
The programme has an admission restriction: the average grade of your certificate, converted to the German scale, decides. The cut-off changes every year — last year's value shows the order of magnitude, not a promise.
How the selection works and how strong the competition is — we go through it against your certificate when we select programmes for you.

You can freely combine subject management with all other subjects involved. Are you interested in media studies or studying foreign languages in English, French or Spanish? Or rather history, art, music, fashion, education, theology or philosophy?

The subject management supplements your cultural studies knowledge with basic business knowledge and management methods, so that you can plan, calculate, advertise, organize and evaluate projects from the cultural sector.
As soon as you have acquired the basic knowledge in the first two semesters, we offer you the "Exploration Module" to take part in a variety of practical lectures, for example on business ethics or from business partners. In this way, you will become familiar with current economic developments and questions. An accompanying event supports you in the preparation and follow-up of the lectures.
What you study
As an undergraduate course, the two-subject Bachelor's program of the Faculty of Cultural Studies conveys knowledge with key occupational qualifications in the intersections of culture and society.
The full curriculum and the programme's parameters are part of programme selection: we compare them with your profile.

As a humanities and cultural scientist, you acquire theories and methods with which you can develop your own thoughts and create new connections. You will also train to argue convincingly, research and convey your own findings. Coupled with the acquired commercial skills, graduates are particularly qualified for management and management or project-oriented activities in the cultural sector. Management and decision-making as the core business competencies of management are also of great value in culturally oriented companies of all kinds, in the public service as well as in non-profit organizations and when founding companies.

How to apply
You can submit the application yourself or with our help — the university decides on admission in both cases.
Applications go through the university's portal or uni-assist. Typical mistakes:
- ×incorrectly made certified copies and translations
- ×a wrong set of documents
- ×the application submitted the wrong way
- ×errors or gaps in the application form
- ×the application submitted at the wrong time — too early or too late
An incomplete or incorrectly prepared application is excluded from the selection — it can no longer be corrected after the deadline.
StudyInFocus does not represent the university and does not influence the admission decision. We do not sell study places and do not guarantee admission — this is a service for preparing and submitting documents on the applicant's side.
If your level is not enough yet
The two most common stoppers are a language level below the requirement and a certificate without direct admission. Both can be solved, but they take months — plan them now, not after a rejection.
