Programme selection →About the programme
Psychology has arrived permanently as a socially relevant discipline and was able to establish itself in many occupational areas. In 1996, 38,000 workers with a degree in psychology were active in the federal territory. By the year 2000, the number of people with a degree in psychology increased to about 46,000; In 2014, it was already 104,000.

However, this did not lead to an oversupply of workers, but new fields of activity were tapped. Psychologists are versatile and flexible through their skills.
The study of psychology deliberately places emphasis on the methodological-statistical, fundamental-oriented, scientific orientation, as expressed by the degree "Bachelor of Science". The program qualifies you to plan, perform and statistically evaluate your own surveys and examinations as well as to work in counseling and diagnostics.
Psychology is an empirical, experiential science that differs from everyday psychology. This is covered by numerous methodological subjects such as statistics, practice of empirical social research, diagnostics and test development. The methodical training leads to a positive critical attitude, which will ultimately shape the graduates more than individual subject matter.
Knowledge alone is not enough. During your studies, you will also be required to develop as a personality and to increase your convincing effect in conversations, lectures and moderation of groups.
What you study
The interaction of theoretical and practical contents becomes clear in the study course plan by the structure of the modules and subjects. Project work characterizes the study of psychology at the RFH, both at the six-semester and the seven-semester study. Through the specific choice of emphases individual interests of the students can be extended as well as deepened.
