Das grundständige Studienfach Wirtschaftsinformatik vermittelt wissenschaftliches und praktisches Grundlagenwissen in Betriebswirtschaftslehre sowie in theoretischer und angewandter Informatik und führt zu einem ersten berufsqualifizierenden Hochschulabschluss.
Wirtschaftsinformatik kann man auch in Form von dualen Studiengängen , Lehramtsstudiengängen oder Fernstudiengängen studieren.
