Business Education (Business Education I)

Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich

Undergraduate Winter Semester

The task of business education is to systematically research processes and conditions as well as funding opportunities for professional teaching, learning and development at various learning and working locations across the lifespan. The research results should serve to make these teaching, learning and development processes efficient and effective, especially with regard to changing job requirements and new professional activity patterns. This is intended to achieve three objectives for vocational education and training:

  1. The development of individual professional regulatory skills - from an individual user perspective and the central aspect of personal autonomy;
  2. Securing a society's human resources;
  3. Ensuring social participation and equal opportunities.

Here, the teaching, learning and development processes are not only viewed systemically at the micro level, but also in the context of their institutional, political and cultural-normative conditions.

The Bachelor's degree in Business Education (Business Education I) at the Faculty of Business Administration at LMU is a full-time course over six semesters in which 180 ECTS points are earned. This professionally qualifying course offers students a scientifically sound and therefore long-term sustainable education. The course meets the highest quality standards and prepares systematically for the challenges and requirements of the job market or a career in science. The course teaches the basics of business education as well as both business and economic aspects in their breadth and in their contexts.
