Business Informatics

Universität des Saarlandes

Undergraduate Summer Semester Winter Semester

As an interdisciplinary subject, business informatics forms the interface between business administration and computer science. Her tasks include solving business administration tasks through the development and use of suitable information and communication solutions as well as the analysis of new information technologies with regard to their application potential for operational practice. The importance of pure hardware and programming knowledge takes a back seat to the ability to design IT-supported solutions and to implement them cooperatively in business organizations. In addition to the basics of information processing, the business informatics course teaches business and analytical thinking skills in particular.

The practice-oriented course offers the opportunity to acquire a professional university degree (Bachelor of Science, B.Sc.) after six semesters. The course teaches the basic scientific content and methods of the disciplines of business informatics, computer science and business administration. With the completion of the bachelor's degree, the ability to apply the knowledge imparted to solving practical tasks in business informatics in a professional environment is acquired. Due to its interdisciplinary character, business informatics offers a wide range of specialization opportunities in studies and work.
