Economics

University of Bonn

Undergraduate Winter Semester

The degree program in Economics researches economic phenomena and their connections in the past and present. The economics are divided into economics and business administration: economics deals with macroeconomic aspects, i.e. H. it researches the interdependencies of all those involved in economic life (state, companies, private households, consumers). Business administration, on the other hand, takes more economic aspects into account and examines the interdependencies within individual companies or households. The course primarily conveys basic economic terms, economic thinking and, using suitable methods, the ability to work on economic problems. The course offers the opportunity to build a profile through areas of specialization in economics and business administration: economics and politics, economics and management, economics and finance, economics and strategic decision-making and economics and data.

Students should be empowered to recognize and understand basic economic relationships.

The compulsory area of the Economics course provides basic methodological knowledge and introduces the basic terms and contexts of economics. The elective area serves to deepen economic contexts and to apply theoretical knowledge to selected economic questions. It is recommended to pursue a specialization by choosing one of the offered specializations, which can be shown on the certificate.
