Logistics

Ludwigshafen University of Business and Society

Undergraduate Summer Semester Winter Semester

Logistics has developed rapidly, especially in recent years, and has created new offers for a global, networked economy. This change and the scientific discussion of the underlying concepts take up a large part of the curriculum of the degree program. Above all, the increased importance of information logistics, especially Internet use (eBusiness), is taken into account. Process-oriented thinking and the use of ERP systems for handling logistical processes are other current topics. Changes in internal logistics through integrated material flow systems are discussed in separate events.

The Logistics course aims at the emerging need for qualified logisticians and logistics managers and conveys the knowledge necessary for the diverse job description of the logistician, with emphasis on business and IT training content. Building on basic theoretical knowledge, the necessary analytical skills are imparted that are required in practice in order to master complex tasks in a methodical and goal-oriented manner.

Exercises integrated in courses, the critical discussion of application examples in seminars and the reflection of what has been learned using case studies are therefore an essential part of the course. Project work, case studies and guest lectures should underpin the practical relevance of the teaching content and give the students the opportunity to check what they have learned for practicality.
