Technical systems are assisting people in more and more activities in order to increase comfort, quality of life, energy efficiency and resource conservation. This is changing many areas of life and, not least, professions and requirements. A prominent feature of this development is the increasing use of mathematical thinking and methods. This goes hand in hand with the growing performance of data processing, which makes it possible to solve increasingly complex processes. Modelling, simulation and optimisation as well as numerical calculations play a central role in this. The new Bachelor's degree course focuses on the fusion of mathematics and computer science with a focus on modern methods and algorithms in the thematic areas of simulation, optimisation, data analysis and data security.
