However, the development of mechatronic systems is more than the mere joining of subsystems or components from these fields. Mechatronics means merging the three disciplines right from the start of the development process. Interdisciplinary networked thinking and action enables the creation of innovative products that meet the requirements of the modern industrial and information society.
