Modern medicine is in constant progress - both in the basic subjects and in the medical disciplines. The practical demands on doctors and medical researchers are constantly increasing. The Medical Faculty of the University of Hamburg designed the model course "Medicine - iMED" in order to take these challenges into account during training. Its central guiding principle is scientific orientation - that is, imparting a critical attitude, problem and method awareness, structuring ability and independence as well as the ability to orientate yourself towards evidence-based science. Developing practical skills is just as much a task as promoting psycho-social skills, which are essential for the medical profession.
