The interdisciplinary and cross-faculty degree program in Molecular Medicine covers the structure, function, and pathology of the human body at the level of molecules and cells, as well as tissues, organs, and organ systems, all the way up to the organism as a whole. In doing so, the program links current topics and questions in human medicine with the ways of thinking and working used in the natural sciences, giving Molecular Medicine students a unique understanding of the concepts of biomedical research. A special focus is also placed on practical relevance. After completing the four-year B.Sc. in Molecular Medicine, graduates are perfectly prepared to start their careers in the pharmaceutical industry or in diagnostics. Those pursuing an academic career can go on to take the one-year English-taught M.Sc. Molecular Medicine in Freiburg.
