Undergraduate Winter Semester

The Bachelor of Science in Psychology degree program is a fundamentally oriented bachelor's degree that covers the entire breadth of the subject of psychology and enables students to apply a broad basic knowledge of natural and social sciences, to use psychological working methods, to familiarize themselves with specific tasks and to solve problems in professional practice. The degree program provides students with all the prerequisites to delve deeper into the most diverse sub-areas of psychology. In this respect, the degree program is also a prerequisite for all typical professional fields for psychologists. In total, the bachelor's degree program comprises 6 semesters with 180 ECTS.

From the winter semester 2020/2021, the reformed Bachelor of Science in Psychology will reflect the content and formal criteria of the licensing regulations for psychotherapists (PsychThApprO) for the corresponding study phase. The students should therefore be able to take the master's degree program in psychology with a focus on clinical psychology and psychotherapy (also according to PsychThApprO) and complete it with a license as a psychotherapist. At the same time, the bachelor's degree also offers opportunities for specialization in cognitive neuroscience and business psychology. The degree program is therefore polyvalent in nature and enables students to continue to take various general and subject-specific psychology master's programs.
