This role is to support Carnect's expansion in the Business to Business (B2B) car rental solutions market. The role is responsible for managing and growing existing accounts to whom we provide car rental solutions. This is a great opportunity for an experienced account manager to manage and develop a diverse portfolio of client accounts (including national, regional and global tour operators, online & retail travel agencies, hotel chains, destination management companies)

Tasks:

The role sits in the Account Management Team, reporting to the Senior Account Manager and is part of the wider Carnect Sales Team. The role can be based in Carnect's Hamburg office.

Main objectives:

Growth of existing accounts: Account management of existing clients, identifying opportunities to increase sales revenue and profitability through product and service offerings and ensuring repeat business through exceptional relationship building, understanding client requirements and effective negotiation of contracts. Achieved through regular communication with client partners, through emails, calls, webinars, meetings and trade fair attendance.

Sales Support: Respond to client partners communication. Oversee queries and find solutions related to product and technical issues, financial queries and customer service escalations. Coordinate and manage internal departments and external expectations.

Reporting: Data analysis and internal performance reporting including KPIs, pricing reviews, financial forecasts and budgets on a weekly, monthly, yearly and ad hoc basis. Update Salesforce and internal data communication systems with Client Partner data and activities. Provide regular external client partner performance overviews and ad hoc reporting for calls/meetings.

Internal meetings and admin: Regular and ad hoc meetings with Key Account Management team, Sales Team, Supplier Relations, Pricing, Finance, Integrations and IT to support growth and development of client partners and product offering.

Product/Project Management support: Liaise internally with other departments to drive projects to improve product or processes for the benefit of the business and client partners.

Requirements:

  • At least 3 years' sales management experience in the B2B market, ideally within the travel/tourism industry including a proven track record of increasing sales through existing clients, and key account management
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office applications (Word, Excel & PowerPoint).
  • Degree or accredited experience in the field of Business or Tourism Experience with CRM tools, e.g. Salesforce would be advantageous
  • Fluent in English with excellent communication and presentation skills (verbal and written). Additional languages are a significant plus (in particular German, Italian, Spanish) given the individual will be managing customers internationally
  • Knowledgeable about the travel/tourism industry (in particular car rental or another segment such as hotels, tour operators, online or retail travel agencies) with a good understanding of market dynamics, trends and key players
  • Strong business acumen and negotiation skills - able to drive insights, make commercially sound decisions and reach mutually beneficial agreements through a deep understanding of clients, the market, key business drivers and financial indicators
  • A proactive, results-oriented individual who is comfortable working on their own initiative and driven by working towards targets. Highly motivated and hungry to progress their career.
  • Strong collaboration skills, customer and team focused, with the ability to engage and influence key decision makers
  • Exceptional organizational and project management skills. The individual needs to be detail oriented, take ownership and have a methodical approach to the management and maintenance of accounts
  • Comfortable managing multiple projects and activities in a demanding and rapidly changing business environment
  • A general understanding and interest in technology, particularly the features and benefits of different IT and web based solutions to connect and store data (e.g. XML, white label websites)
  • Experience working across multiple countries and regions and cultural awareness through working with global customers is advantageous
  • Flexible and adaptable to travel, including occasional overnight stays as required
