The SGS Institut Fresenius GmbH TraitGenetics Section in Gatersleben is a well-known service provider in the field of molecular DNA analysis, especially for crops with a global customer base.

• You will develop customized solutions for IT problems in daily laboratory operations. This includes in particular the preparation and evaluation of the analysis of raw DNA sequence data (Sanger, NGS) and molecular marker data as part of our development of genotyping arrays and routine analysis on the Infinium and Axiom platforms.
• You support supervisors and employees in the automatic evaluation of large amounts of data. This includes the viewing, plausibility check, error correction, abstraction and processing of data from the entire DNS analysis for customers.
• They perform SQL database queries and administration.
• They prepare information, especially sequence data, with the help of databases.

• You have an M.Sc. or Ph.D. in the field of bioinformatics or a comparable field of study with a focus on computer science and natural science (biology, biotechnology, biochemistry, agricultural sciences, etc.).
• You are just as welcome as a career starter as a young professional or career changer with the right professional experience - we are happy to invest in your further development.
• You are proficient in at least one programming language (e.g. in C ++, Python, Perl, R).
• You have experience with SQL databases.
• Ideally, you have knowledge of DNA sequence data analysis in the field of re-sequencing and / or molecular marker analysis as well as a basic understanding of the processes in a molecular genetic laboratory and / or the field of plant breeding.
• You enjoy communication, interaction and service-oriented dealings with customers and other SGS locations nationally and internationally.
• You are able to evaluate scientific publications in your field and to participate in their creation.
• You have a very good command of German and English, both spoken and written.
