for the clinic for neurosurgery in the Vivantes Klinikum in Friedrichshain as part of the retirement succession on February 1st, 2023.
The Vivantes Klinikum in Friedrichshain has 24 medical departments, 2 rescue centers and over 1,000 beds. As a maximum-care hospital and one of the largest non-university hospitals in the capital, it is an emergency center with numerous interdisciplinary centers.
The Department of Neurosurgery covers the entire spectrum of surgical and conservative diagnostics, therapy and treatment of diseases and injuries to the brain and spinal cord. Every year, around 1,000 inpatients are treated here in 34 beds. Two specially equipped operating theaters are available for minimally invasive and open surgical procedures using modern medical technology. The main focus of the clinic is the treatment and therapy of head and spine tumors, pituitary and skull base surgery and the conservative and surgical treatment of diseases of the spine. The interdisciplinary embedding and cooperation with the various clinics and departments of the maximum care provider KFH, including the clinic for neurology, the center for musculoskeletal medicine and the clinic for ear, nose and throat medicine, head and neck surgery, plastic surgery should be emphasized. There is also close cooperation with the Clinic for Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine in pediatric neurosurgery.
Tasks:
- Ensuring patient care, organization and administration of the clinic
- Responsible operative activity, especially care of intracranial and intraspinal tumors, pituitary and skull base surgery
- Active cooperation and expansion of cooperation with the Institute for Radiology and the Center for Musculoskeletal Medicine in the care of neurotraumatological and neurovascular cases as well as in spinal surgery
- Carrying out pediatric neurosurgical operations
- Conceptual, innovative and future-oriented further development of the subject area and expansion of the existing core competence, taking into account health policy and economic requirements
- Active, constructive and cooperative support and further development of the established and practiced interdisciplinary cooperation with the operational subjects as well as the other specialist departments and professional groups of the clinic and the Vivantes network
- Education and training in the medical and non-medical field
Requirements:
- experienced specialist in neurosurgery with a doctorate and many years of clinical and surgical experience
- ideally habilitation
- Advantageous, but not mandatory: additional qualification in medical economics
- Mastering the field of neurosurgery
- Profound knowledge of all common surgical techniques including minimally invasive experience
- Leadership qualities and experience in management positions with staff and budget responsibility
- Networking in the specialist societies and knowledge of the Berlin and Brandenburg market environment
- Interested in scientific projects, clinical studies and lecturing
