The Federal Institute for Building, Urban and Spatial Research (BBSR) in the Federal Office for Building and Spatial Planning (BBR) is a departmental research facility within the portfolio of the Federal Ministry of the Interior, Building and Regional Affairs (BMI) and advises the federal government at national and European level on urban and spatial development tasks as well as housing, real estate and construction.

The BBSR is looking for a permanent person for the FWD 4 "Knowledge Management, Library" unit at the earliest possible date:

Tasks:

Within the newly established department “Research and Investment Programs, Scientific Services” (FWD), your area of ​​responsibility is in the area of ​​Section FWD 4 “Knowledge Management, Library”. The department is responsible for the strategic development, planning and coordination of the publishing system, internal knowledge management and the library.

There you are responsible for the following area of ​​responsibility:

  • You will independently coordinate and evaluate the planning and implementation of publications and public relations measures, in particular the Smart Cities Coordination and Transfer Office (KTS)
  • You are involved in the conception of a strategy for digital communication (e.g. newsletter, internet, social media) for KTS
  • You will conceptually develop the publication system (print and online) of the BBSR and the Smart Cities Coordination and Transfer Office (KTS) as well as the internal communication
  • You ensure that the corporate design and the design guidelines of the BBSR, the ministries and the KTS are adhered to and create the basis / templates for this
  • You cooperate with the KTS editorial team and, together with your colleagues from the specialist department, plan current topics
  • You will work closely with colleagues in the company, contractors and other external service providers and authors
  • You organize presentation appointments and represent the institute independently at specialist events
  • You will support the department in administrative activities and work on basic communication issues and develop forward-looking concepts

Requirements:

The following is required:

  • Completed university degree (university diploma / master’s) in media or communication studies or journalism. Alternatively, you have completed a degree in the fields relevant to building, urban and spatial research, in particular geography or architecture, or a comparable degree
  • At least two years of professional experience in (specialist) public relations and communication with knowledge of current media formats and familiarity with new media (social media)
  • Very good knowledge of the editing of academic texts and Internet texts and a good feel for addressee-oriented language
  • good written and spoken English skills
  • Independent work with a feeling for setting priorities as well as communication skills and assertiveness
  • pronounced team orientation, initiative, responsibility and willingness to work
  • Enjoy working at the interface between science and editing and clearly formulating complex scientific relationships

The following are desirable:

  • Experience in the conception of scientific print products and in manuscript editing through to typesetting and printing templates
  • Knowledge of image research including legal aspects (media law)

The grouping takes place in salary group 13 TVEntgO of the federal government, as long as the personal requirements are met.
