With more than 190 concerts and over 90,000 visitors per year, the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania Festival is one of the largest classical music festivals in Germany. International orchestras, the stars of the classical music scene and many other well-known artists as well as the international “Young Elite” can be experienced in castles, manor houses, churches, barns and “unheard of places” throughout the country during the festival summer from June to September. The festival winter and the Rügen festival spring are further pillars of the festival year.

We are now looking for someone

Editor for concert programs (m/f/d)

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Independent creation of all concert programs for the festival
  • Content editing for individual and special issues
  • Awarding text assignments to external authors and checking their content and language for correctness
  • Layout of the individual program booklets using the graphics program Adobe InDesign in pre-designed templates
  • Coordination of print jobs
  • Collaboration on content texts for other festival brochures (annual program, magazine) and the website (blog, texts on concerts and focal points)
  • Supervision of concerts during the festival seasons (spring, summer, winter)

Requirements and expectations

  • completed studies and interest in classical music (studies in musicology or comparable)
  • We would be happy to provide initial editorial experience (samples of work desired)
  • very good verbal and written expression and enjoy writing
  • Proficient use of MS Office
  • I would like to have initial experience with Adobe programs, especially InDesign and Photoshop
  • independent, reliable and quick work, high ability to work in a team
  • very high resilience and willingness to work (seasonal operation with work on weekends, etc.)
  • Class B driving license
