Office manager (m/f/d) with a focus on exhibition administration

The Museum Barberini, the art museum in Potsdam's historic center, donated by SAP founder and patron Hasso Plattner, is supported by the Hasso Plattner Foundation.
Since opening in 2017, the house has featured exhibitions on French Impressionism and current issues relating to artists such as Vincent van Gogh, Pablo Picasso and Gerhard Richter. Parallel to the changing exhibitions, the Museum Barberini has been presenting the extensive collection of impressionist and post-impressionist paintings by the museum founder Hasso Plattner since September 2020, including masterpieces by Claude Monet, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Berthe Morisot, Gustave Caillebotte and Paul Signac.

We are looking for the next possible date

an office manager (m/f/d) with a focus on exhibition administration full-time

• General office organization and independent completion of administrative processes
• Work independently according to the specifications of the director, curators and registrar
• Preparation and follow-up of appointments and business trips
• Working with the browser-based museum management system MuseumPlus and the software for virtual exhibition planning Cura3D (museumpro)
• Image editing and clarification of copyrights (catalogues, press, social media, digital mediation and marketing), communication with VG Bild-Kunst and international photo agencies

• Experience in office management in a museum, gallery or auction house
• Commercial training or university studies in museology, cultural management or comparable courses
• Skilled use of museum software and databases (MuseumPlus)
• Very good knowledge of English (knowledge of other foreign languages would be an advantage, especially French)
• Knowledge of the art exhibition business and familiarity with the customs of the international museum landscape
