Press and Public Relations Officer – Public Relations Expert / PR employee (communications scientist, cultural scientist, humanities scholar) or journalist / editor (f/m/d)

Following the pulse of culture every day - in Europe's largest cultural center: With more than 1,000 events a year and as the seat of major cultural institutions (Munich Philharmonic Orchestra, Munich City Library, Munich Adult Education Center, Munich University of Music and Performing Arts), the Gasteig is unique in Europe A hub for culture and creativity – most recently in the alternative venue that has just opened in the new creative district of Gasteig HP8.

As a member of the communications team, you are responsible for the presentation of the Gasteig in the media and in the public - locally, nationally and internationally, in close coordination with the press officer and head of the department. You work closely with the management and the heads of the individual business areas.

Press work

• You design communication strategies, create and send out press releases and organize press conferences.
• You answer media inquiries and accompany filming and photo sessions.
• You actively approach media colleagues (f/m/d), maintain the network of media contacts and the media distribution list.
• You keep the press area on our website up to date with texts and photos.
• You will deputize for the spokesman in absentia and will be in contact with the communication colleagues (f/m/d) of the institutes based in Gasteig.

• You take care of developing and establishing contacts with different target groups and create and send out newsletters.
• You take care of the communication of the image events of the Gasteig.
• You will draft texts and speeches for management.
• You work in feedback management.
• You guide guests and visitors (f/m/d) through our locations.
• You participate in planning the topics for all Gasteig media.

• You are a communications professional (f/m/d) with your own network and know from many years of experience how to do successful press and public relations work.
• You are outgoing, communicative and creative.
• Your writing style is fresh and you can tell stories that are fun to read.
• You find it exciting to accompany the future of a cultural center in a communicative manner.
• You have completed a degree in journalism / public relations or communication sciences, cultural studies, humanities or a comparable education and/or many years of professional experience in the fields of journalism or press and public relations.
