The "Kunsthochschule" started in 1990 as "a talent factory", "an art college of a new type", an "electronic Bauhaus", "Paradiesvogel", "experiment without guarantee of success" and also as "unloved child" of the cultural landscape of Cologne Closure of the former Cologne factory schools and thus with the loss of education in "free art" and the "end of the printed word" connected.
Today, the KHM firmly and successfully belongs to the canon of the German art and film schools, whereby their project-oriented approach (no master classes, the teaching areas comprehensive supervision by professors, diploma in undergraduate and postgraduate study), the individualistic "cross-over talents" between Produces art, media, film and science, has remained faithful and unique in it.
