College of Music

The College of Music covers the full spectrum of music. Besides artistic courses, activities include research, academic work, promotion of the younger generation, and, of course, teacher training for future music teachers.

The college follows in the tradition of its highly-respected predecessor institutions, which have provided musical training of the highest standard in Berlin for the past 200 years. It represents a diverse range of music, offering opportunities for specialization as well as encounters with music of all kinds. The range extends from artistic training in orchestral and chamber music, early music and contemporary music, to artistic-educational courses for future teachers, church music, conducting, composition and sound-engineering.
