Civil engineers plan, design and calculate structures and infrastructure systems (e.g. for traffic and water) and manage their implementation. The Civil Engineering course provides the necessary technical and scientific basics and specialist knowledge in the areas of structural engineering as well as transport and water engineering.
In addition to technically flawless and reliable planning, aspects of sustainability and the social acceptance of buildings and systems are playing an increasingly important role. These can only be partially dealt with in the civil engineering course and are taught intensively in the construction-oriented bachelor course Environmental engineering - Construction.
Two master’s courses in construction enable further studies in the department.
The civil engineering study profile is supplemented by a bachelor's and master's degree in industrial engineering (specializing in civil engineering) in cooperation with department I.
The Bachelor's degree in Geoinformation focuses on spatial data, the geodata. They are e rhoben, v elaborated, a analyzed and p presented. In addition to this EVAP principle, the three main areas of study offer respective subject-related specializations:
The joint Master's degree in Geoinformation offers two main subjects to choose from:
The Master's Environmental Information - GIS imparts skills and competencies to answer spatial and environmentally relevant questions with geographic information systems (GIS).
